There are 14 information kiosks installed in Bolesławiec. Together with the large display in front of BOK-MCC, they cost more than half a million zlotys. Some of them are damaged, while others do not work properly and fail to display websites. The touchscreens on several of them do not function correctly. Why they are not being repaired is unknown.
We asked city officials whether they check how the information kiosks are used at all, whether these expensive devices are useful, and which websites people use most often. The city spokeswoman replied that they do not keep statistics on the websites visited. So it is business as usual. The money was spent, and none of the officials is concerned anymore about whether the information kiosks fulfil their purpose or whether anyone needs them at all.
