Two years ago, we wrote that information kiosks would be installed at the most important locations in Bolesławiec. Thanks to this investment, everyone using the information kiosks can learn more about the history of our city and its monuments. What is more, tourists can book accommodation or cinema tickets.
It appears, however, that for some reason the kiosks have begun to bother some residents of Bolesławiec. “Four of them were damaged after the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival,” says Agnieszka Gergont, a spokesperson for the city authorities. “Repairing one costs approximately PLN 3,000. The matter has been reported to the police.”
The information kiosks are vandal-resistant. They were certainly not damaged by accident. “This is senseless vandalism,” says Agnieszka Gergont. “What is a tourist who comes to Bolesławiec for the weekend supposed to do when most institutions and offices are closed?” she adds. The vandals did not think of that, however.
The information kiosks have already been repaired. City officials have a way to ensure that any future vandals are held responsible for each subsequent attempt to damage the information kiosks. What this method is—we promised not to reveal.
