Until yesterday, the success of the city’s largest investment—the wastewater-treatment project co-financed by the European Union—remained uncertain. The problem was that the city did not own the wastewater-treatment plant, although it needed to do so in order to receive the grant. The city authorities had been eagerly awaiting the Voivode’s decision for a long time.

“At this point, the implementation of the programme is not formally at risk,” says Piotr Roman, President of Bolesławiec. The municipal wastewater-treatment plant will be managed by Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji.
