The semifinal tournament for promotion to the women’s second volleyball league was held in Wodzisław Śląski from 9 to 11 March. On the first day of the competition, the Iwiny team faced the hosts, Zorza Wodzisław Śląski. The opponents proved very demanding and defeated our team 3:0.
The following day, Tukan faced the team from Kozienice. The Iwiny players fought bravely and, despite losing the first two sets, won the next two, forcing a tie-break. Unfortunately, the experienced KKS players started the deciding game better, quickly built up a lead and held on to it until the end, winning the set 15:9 and the entire match 3:2.
In the match for third place—after an interesting and closely fought encounter, with the outcomes of the final two sets decided by tense and nervous endings—the Iwiny players lost to the team from Łódź 3:1.
Despite three defeats, our team deserves praise. Both throughout the season and during the March tournament, it showed tremendous ambition and determination to fight.
