In the very centre of the city, at Rev. Jerzy Popiełuszko Square (between Asnyka, K. Miarki, Łukasiewicza and Bielska streets), construction is underway on two courts: one for beach volleyball and one for beach football.
"We want to prepare the site by Friday. One of the courts will be 25 metres long and 15 metres wide," says Dariusz Jośko, director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre.
The first competitions are scheduled to take place next Saturday. The courts at the square will be permanent. Admission will be free.
