The April session of the Bolesławiec City Council is under way. Mayor Piotr Roman, while reporting on the more important actions taken during the period between sessions, mentioned the Civil Protection and Civil Defence Programme and what the City of Bolesławiec intends to do as part of it.
One of the more important undertakings will be the construction and reconstruction of protective structures and places of temporary shelter.
Piotr Roman:
The idea is this: first, a strategy for the development of collective accommodation and shelter facilities.
Second, there is a plan to prepare conceptual documentation for the construction of an underground car park with a function as a shelter for the population. We are talking about... Marszałek Józef Piłsudski Square.
Mayor:
This is the place where we want to locate an underground car park that in the future—hopefully not—but that will be able to serve residents.
And he added:
We do not even rule out extending this car park further towards Ksiądz Jerzy Popiełuszko Square.
On a daily basis, it is to be an underground car park. In a situation of extraordinary danger, something resembling a shelter.
We will certainly return to this topic.
