The opening of the post-competition exhibition “Feelings and Emotions,” combined with an awards ceremony for the winners, took place on Tuesday, 14 February, at II Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. Twenty-two photographs were submitted to the competition, organised as part of the “Photography – My Passion” project. The winning entries were Krzysztof Horoniecki’s, titled “Fear – a Paralysing Emotion” and “A Smile Is the Only Answer”.

The jury awarded second place (comprising Grzegorz Matoryn, a well-known Bolesławiec photographer, Iwona Florkowska, a culture studies teacher, Ewa Poznar and Monika Wierzchowska, students of II LO, and Joanna Turczyńska, coordinator of the “Photography – My Passion” project) to Michał Medyński for “The Girl”. Third place went to Wiktoria Baczyńska’s photograph “Winter Aura”. Szymon Walera received an honourable mention.

“I warmly congratulate the winner of first place,” Grzegorz Matoryn said during the exhibition opening. “Krzysztof Horoniecki’s works stood out positively among the other photographs. From the very beginning, the jury had no doubts about who should receive the main prize.”

A Valentine’s Day concert was also held at the school that day. “This year, the event had a slightly different character,” said Agata Fraś, a student of II LO and the initiator of the event. “We collected money for the treatment of our classmate’s sister.”

The performers included Agata Fraś, Ewa Rejman, Alicja Rudzik, Amadeusz Skokuń, Mateusz Chmielik, Aleksander Kosko, Sylwia Skorupa, Oliwia Gruszka and Magdalena Sołtysiak. Everyone gathered in the school auditorium had the opportunity to hear songs from the repertoires of Lady Pank, Celine Dion, Rihanna and the band Hey. There was also beatboxing and a dance performance.
