Błażej Biegasiewicz and Krystyna Stawinoga, second-year students at II Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec, are planning their futures in theatre. In March 2012, they plan to stage a play entitled “Insomnia.” Błażej wrote the text and will also direct the production.

Neither the author nor Krystyna want to reveal the plot. “It is definitely not a typical school project,” Błażej stresses. “No one should expect a fairy tale about Little Red Riding Hood,” Krystyna says with a smile. “Insomnia” is a text about young people; it is a play about us, for us. That is why we would like students from upper-secondary schools who are at least 16 years old to attend the organizational meeting.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 28, in the assembly hall of II LO (Dolne Młyny Street). It starts at 5:00 p.m.. “We are looking for people who are not necessarily involved in theatre,” Krystyna explains. “Above all, we are interested in people with passion. Obviously, to stage a play, you first have to build a bond between the actors and get them to work well together.”

Both emphasize that they have certain hopes for the group that is only now being formed. “It would be fantastic if we managed to create a well-coordinated team,” Błażej says.

If that happens, the group will stage further productions and take part in workshops, reviews and festivals. “We can certainly guarantee an interesting way to spend your free time,” Krystyna says. “We want to bring culture to life in Bolesławiec. It is worth getting away from the computer!”
