The opportunity to strengthen the partnership was provided by the Markt der Kulturen (Market of Cultures) event. The city of Pirna organized it for the third time. It does so to counteract the growing racism among the young generation of Germans.
Bolesławiec was invited to participate in the event for the second time. Advertising brochures were handed out at the Bolesławiec stand, and the residents of Pirna could obtain information about our city.
Bolesławiec was promoted by the Canon, Canon Skład and APS Bunt bands. The audience liked our performances very much. Whenever the people from Bolesławiec took the stage, a sizable crowd gathered in the market square.
Among the exhibitors was a group of people from the German Courage civil initiative. The organization’s members are nonpartisan and fight racism. They organize various activities, ranging from paint-based games for the youngest children to concerts and discos for older people.
