The proposal to cooperate with our city was made by Peter Skokan, the mayor of Česká Lípa. At the invitation of the mayor, a Bolesławiec delegation visited the Czech Republic on the occasion of the city’s holiday.
– We have a lot in common, which is why we are keen to establish a partnership – says Bolesławiec Deputy Mayor Andrzej Chodyra. The Czech mayor’s proposal will now be presented to the councillors. If the City Council responds positively to the matter, it is possible that in just a few months Bolesławiec will have another partner city—this time the first from across its southern border.
So far, Bolesławiec has signed partnership agreements with four cities: Siegburg and Pirna in Germany, Hobro in Denmark, and Nogent sur Marne in France.
