The opening of the exhibition, prepared by the Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius, will take place on 24 November in the building of the City History Department of the Museum of Ceramics at 14 Kutuzowa Street. It begins at 1:00 p.m..
The exhibition presents topics from three fields of science—mathematics, physics and astronomy—in an engaging and exceptionally accessible way. Visiting the exhibition becomes a unique journey through successive centuries and areas of knowledge. At several dozen stations, visitors can conduct experiments themselves and learn about the operating principles of devices that accompany us in everyday life, such as pendulums.
Part of the exhibition is devoted to presenting phenomena in the field of optics, as well as the formation and propagation of sound waves. It also presents the operating principles of both the earliest and entirely modern computers and telescopes.
Students, teachers and principals from Bolesławiec secondary schools were involved in organizing the exhibition. Students of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące prepared a station under the supervision of physics teacher Andrzej Idzik. Supplementary information materials and a multimedia presentation were prepared by a team led by Joanna Misiura. Students of II Liceum Ogólnokształcące prepared an interactive station under the supervision of mathematics teachers—Edyta Lippik and Dorota Kurowska. On 24 November, students from both schools will present the devices they made themselves and explain how they work.
