We reported back in 2008 that the Bolesławiec District Office would have a new headquarters. “Most residents of our district believe that a new office headquarters should be built,” Karol Stasik, head of the Bolesławiec District Council, said during a press conference held on November 16. “Unfortunately, the company that was supposed to prepare the design documentation failed to complete the task and will pay contractual penalties. But we have already selected a new project contractor.”
“We are not pleased that this delay occurred,” Dariusz Kwaśniewski, a member of the District Board, stressed. “If it had not happened, we could already be selecting a contractor for the new district office headquarters.”
The district authorities assume that the design being prepared by another company will be ready in April 2012. “In the middle of next year, we should select a new contractor for the first stage of the work, which will involve renovating the building on Armii Krajowej Street and adapting it to the needs of the district office.”
The new office location has many advantages. It is close to the Bolesławiec municipal office, the commune office, and both the bus and railway stations. Moving the district office departments to the new headquarters will certainly make life easier for district residents. “Not a day goes by without me asking some lost person which department they are looking for. And when they answer that it is the Architecture and Construction Department, I have to direct them to Zwycięstwa Street,” said the member of the District Board.
This is supposed to change by the end of October 2013, which is the planned completion date for the first stage of the investment. “We will do everything we can to open the new office headquarters by the end of this term,” Kwaśniewski stressed.
