The reviewer returned to NOMO after eating an excellent steak there
NOMO restaurant on ul. Śluzowa has been operating in Bolesławiec for almost four years. Szymon from Zgorzelec had visited it before and had eaten a steak there that he really enjoyed. That is why he decided to return. This time he recorded a video and published a review on his social media, together with descriptions of the dishes and their prices.
On the “Szymon Testuje” profile, he reviews restaurants from our region in a simple and accessible way—including those in Zgorzelec, Żarska Wieś, Ujazd and Bolesławiec. The profile also features reviews of bars and restaurants from across Poland and abroad.
What did Szymon order at NOMO?
Szymon did not come to the restaurant alone—his father accompanied him and also ordered a dish for himself. Three dishes and side items were served, followed by lemonade. The reviewer made sure to show exactly what he ate and how much it cost in the video.
The first item was a Boss Burger for PLN 69. It is a dish for one person, and Szymon decided to add sweet potato fries for PLN 15. The reviewer's father chose a large portion of ribs, available in an unlimited version with coleslaw. The next dish was duck breast served with dumplings. It is worth adding that the reviewer mistakenly called it tenderloin, which a restaurant employee pointed out in a comment below the review. A drink—lemonade—was also ordered with the dishes. The final bill came to PLN 408.
How did it taste? An opinion on the dishes
The Boss Burger consists of two beef patties. In Szymon's opinion, the meat was good, but there was not quite enough sauce, which made the whole burger somewhat dry. Szymon also pointed out that no one asked him how he wanted the meat in the burger cooked. We do not know what rules apply at NOMO, but in our opinion, that is a mistake in a restaurant. Overall, the reviewer considered the sweet potato fries tasty, although they were very overcooked.
The ribs received the harshest criticism. “The ribs—well, they tasted as if they had been grilled, and the coleslaw was supposedly OK too, but in the end it was a bit like eating fat,” Szymon summed up. The duck, which the reviewer confused with tenderloin, was rated positively, but in his opinion the dumplings were too floury and therefore hard. The reviewer recalled that steaks used to be served at this venue and were something exceptional, just like the restaurant itself. Now, in his opinion, the restaurant is focused more on profit.
The reviewer's complaints
The biggest drawback turned out to be the lighting—in Szymon's view, the venue is too dark, making it difficult to read the menu. The reviewer also drew attention to the restaurant's surroundings, which he described as “cemetery-like”.
NOMO is a venue with almost four years of history and has its strengths, but according to Szymon from Zgorzelec, it could use a few improvements: more light, sauce for the burger and better-prepared dumplings. The steaks that once served as the venue's calling card are now mostly a memory. Is it worth visiting NOMO in Bolesławiec? The reviewer's opinion leaves that for the guests themselves to decide.
