The check took place during an operation conducted by officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec police. A 30-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was behind the wheel of the stopped vehicle.

While checking the driver's details, the officers established that the man was subject to an active court-ordered ban on driving motor vehicles.

The ban has been in force since August

The ban was imposed in August this year and was to remain in force for six months. (Previously, the man had driven a car without the required licence).

Up to 5 years in prison

Failure to comply with a court-ordered ban on driving motor vehicles is punishable by up to five years in prison. The court may also impose another, this time multi-year, ban on driving vehicles on the offender.
