The incident occurred on a train. Just after leaving the carriage, the man realized that he no longer had his wallet.
When he returned to look for what he had lost, he found it in a completely different part of the train than the one in which he had been travelling.
Unfortunately, after checking its contents, it turned out that cash—over PLN 1,000—had disappeared from the wallet. The victim immediately reported the matter to the police.
Police officers from Nowogrodziec identified the suspect
The case was handled by officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec. As a result of their operational activities, they identified a person suspected of committing the theft.
The 46-year-old woman from Zgorzelec County was detained. She was charged with theft and admitted to committing the alleged offence.
The officers also recovered the stolen cash. The money is to be returned to its owner.
Theft is punishable by up to five years' imprisonment.
