For nearly half a century, it was a place where successive generations of Bolesławiec residents competed in sport. Now “Rowek” on Graniczna Street is returning in a new form—with a modern surface, lighting and stands. The renovated pitch was officially opened on Friday, October 9.

“Rowek” Already Has Nearly 50 Years of History

The history of the facility on Graniczna Street, known as “Rowek”, dates back to 1976, when a simple grass pitch was built there.

Over time, the facility became a place where successive generations developed their sporting passions and experienced their first football emotions. On Friday, October 9, the site officially began a new chapter in its history.

– We have been waiting for this moment. And it was worth waiting for. Because today “Rowek” is back. It is back in a new form—modern, safe, functional and ready for many more decades of sporting excitement – said Paweł Dul, director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec.

Artificial Turf, Lighting and Stands for 101 People

Following the modernisation, “Rowek” is a full-size football pitch with a modern artificial-turf surface. The solution used is intended to allow the facility to be used throughout the year.

The pitch area also gained infrastructure intended to improve users’ comfort and safety. The facility is equipped with energy-efficient lighting, monitoring and a sound system. Stands with 101 spectator seats were also built, along with dugouts for players and officials.

The redevelopment also covered access routes to the facility, fencing, ball-stop nets and bicycle racks. The project is completed by the necessary technical infrastructure.

The new equipment is intended to serve both people using the pitch and fans watching the matches.

How Much Did the “Rowek” Redevelopment Cost?

The renovation of the pitch on Graniczna Street was carried out as part of a project entitled “Creation of multifunctional places for local community activity through the construction of an open roller-skating and inline-skating track on the boulevard along the Bóbr River and a pitch on Graniczna Street in Bolesławiec”.

The investment was carried out by the Warsaw-based company TAMEX Obiekty Sportowe S.A.

The value of the construction works amounted to PLN 5 129 222.80.
