– The film was intended to be our first larger project with professional support, but most of the crew already knew one another, so there were no problems with settling in – says Michał Żak, creator of “III Zasada” and a student of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. – This is my first time directing. I never expected it to be such a demanding job, requiring an excellent knowledge of the subject and constant creativity. Nevertheless, it is very rewarding work when, after a hard day of shooting, you know that something will come of it.
As the young director emphasizes, the actors – especially the main trio (Eryk Ochendzan, Kuba Brzezicki and Paulina Sudół) – faced a difficult task. – But I think it turned out interestingly, and everyone will remember it as a great experience – he adds.
The inspiration for writing the screenplay came from… ideas for shots – Individual frames, effects and camera tricks that we wanted to use needed a screenplay – Michał Żak explains. – I would not like to reveal the plot, but I can say that it is based on a simple story about oppression, sensitivity and mental weakness.
– If the film proves successful, we will start the next project. Perhaps, thanks to this, Bolesławiec will become a city of young filmmakers and an off-cinema festival will return here – says the director.
The screening will take place on Saturday, 22 October, at Forum cinema. It starts at 12:00. Admission is free.
