Another call moments later

What is cardiac arrest?
Cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart stops pumping blood effectively and the body no longer receives an adequate supply of oxygen. It is a direct threat to life requiring immediate rescue measures.
When cardiac arrest is suspected, quickly recognizing the situation, calling emergency services and starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation are crucial. If an automated external defibrillator (AED) is available, using it in accordance with the device's instructions can be an important part of providing assistance.
In such situations, time is critical. Until professional services arrive, the actions of bystanders can affect the injured person's chances.
