Traffic on the bypass is proceeding as usual. Drivers do not currently have to expect very serious difficulties; however, they should exercise particular caution in the construction area, slow down and follow the instructions of traffic controllers.
The construction of the roundabout is one of the important elements of the entire project related to the retail park under development. The new facility will generate additional car traffic, which is why an appropriate road layout needs to be prepared.
The new roundabout is intended to provide a direct connection between DK 94, that is, Bolesławiec’s bypass, and the roads leading to the retail park. This will allow some traffic to bypass local streets and the nearby housing estate.
This is particularly important for Staroszkolna, Hutnicza, Wańkowicza, Gałczyńskiego, Jana Pawła II and Chrobrego streets. Without an appropriate connection to the national road, the additional traffic generated by a large retail facility could paralyse an already heavily burdened street network and cause very large traffic jams.
For now, drivers must be patient and exercise caution in the area where the works are being carried out. Once the project is completed, the new roundabout is intended to take over some of the traffic associated with access to the park.
The opening of Vendo Park in Bolesławiec is scheduled for the end of this year.
