Wednesday afternoon brought a sudden deterioration in the weather in Bolesławiec County. As istotne.pl reported, Junior Brigadier Mateusz Dąbrowa, deputy commander of the Bolesławiec County PSP, a total of 13 incidents were recorded. The vast majority involved wind damage, namely broken branches and trees.

Fortunately, there were no major losses or injured people.

The largest number of incidents occurred in Nowogrodziec Municipality. Firefighters were dispatched there to deal with successive cases of removing the effects of the strong wind.

Operations began at 3:53 p.m., and the last recorded incident ended at approximately 8:26 p.m.. The most intense activity occurred in the late afternoon. By 5:17 p.m., firefighters had already recorded nine incidents.

A total of approximately 24 fire service units were assigned to the operations. The units from Nowogrodziec Municipality had particularly much work. The local fire engine with a ladder was practically being dispatched from one location to the next.

Storm damage also being cleared the following day

Although most interventions took place on Wednesday, the effects of the strong wind are also being cleared today.

On Thursday morning, firefighters received a report concerning a tree blown down on the tracks of railway line No. 283 in Nowogrodziec. This incident was most likely a direct consequence of Wednesday’s storm.

Most importantly, however, no one suffered anything serious.
