According to data from the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, there are currently 27 difficulties on national and expressways within a 70-kilometer radius of Bolesławiec. Some are planned roadworks, while others result from the current technical condition of the road surface or border checks. In total, the difficulties affect sections located from approximately 1 km to more than 70 km from Bolesławiec, covering both the Lower Silesian and Lubusz voivodeships.

DK36 completely closed in Lisowice

The most serious difficulty remains the closure of national road No. 36 in Lisowice (km 1.9–2.5). Due to the reconstruction of DK36 and construction of a roundabout at the intersection with DW 292 and county road 2180D, a section approximately 420 meters long is closed to traffic. A detour runs via DW 292 and DP 1244D. The work will continue until December 31, 2026.

Construction of a roundabout and a new bridge in Bolesławiec

In Bolesławiec itself, work is underway on national road No. 94D involving construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr River and reconstruction of the existing structure (km 38.9–39.5). Drivers should expect a narrowed roadway and a speed limit; the work is scheduled to continue until December 31, 2026. Further along, on the DK94D section between km 41.8 and 43.1, a roundabout is being constructed, also causing a narrowed roadway and speed restrictions; these difficulties will continue until October 31, 2026.

Speed restrictions on the A4 motorway

On the A4 motorway in the vicinity of the Godzieszów, Bolesławiec and Krzyżowa interchanges, the speed limit is 80 km/h. The reason is surface bulging and damage to concrete slabs. The difficulties occur on the southbound carriageway toward Wrocław (km 31.2–31.6) and on sections near the Krzyżowa interchange (km 47.5–48.1). The restrictions will remain in place until the end of December 2026.

Renewal of road markings on roads 12, 12A, 12E and 12F

Road markings are being renewed on many sections of national roads. The work includes, among others, the Łęknica–Żary–Żagań route (DK12), the Szprotawa bypass (DK12A), the Żagań bypass (DK12E) and the Żary bypass (DK12F). On all these sections, the roadway has been narrowed and overtaking is prohibited; manual traffic control is also in force on some sections.

Border checks on DK27, DK12 and A18

Due to border checks on DK27 in Przewóz, DK12 in Łęknica and A18 in Olszyna, the roadway is narrowed, overtaking is prohibited and the speed limit is 30 km/h. The checks have been extended until October 1, 2026.

Alternating traffic and repair work on other sections

On DK3 in Piechowice (km 479.2–479.8), speed restrictions have been introduced on the approach to the bridge structure: 50 km/h from the Jelenia Góra side and 40 km/h from the Szklarska Poręba side. Meanwhile, reconstruction of the road is underway on DK32 between Wilkanów and Zielona Góra; traffic is alternating, controlled manually or by traffic lights, with the possibility of stopping traffic in both directions for up to 10 minutes. Work on this section will continue until May 31, 2027. Additionally, an expert assessment of the road’s technical condition is being carried out on DK27 in Nowogród Bobrzański, with alternating traffic in place.

Drivers planning a journey in the Bolesławiec area are advised to check the current traffic arrangements in advance and allow extra time for the journey.
