District police officers from the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski detained a 39-year-old resident of Lwówek County who was wanted to serve an imposed five-month prison sentence. The man was caught during a check while riding an electric scooter in Przeździedza, in the Wleń commune.

The intervention took place on September 6 in the afternoon. The district officers were on duty in the Wleń commune when they noticed a man riding an electric scooter and decided to check him.

While checking the 39-year-old’s identity, the officers searched for his details in police databases. It quickly turned out that the man was wanted to serve a five-month prison sentence.

Why? The sentence had been imposed for driving a motor vehicle without the required authorization and under the influence of intoxicating substances.

However, the intervention did not end there. During further proceedings, the district officers found intoxicating substances on the 39-year-old—methamphetamine and ecstasy tablets.

The man was detained and taken to a police cell. The following day, he was charged with possession of intoxicating substances.

After the procedural activities were completed, the 39-year-old was transported to pre-trial detention, where he is to serve the previously imposed five-month prison sentence.

Police emphasize that cases of this kind show how seemingly routine checks can lead to the discovery of people wanted by the justice system, as well as other violations of the law.
