On the A4 motorway toward Zgorzelec, traffic has resumed following an earlier fire involving a heavy goods vehicle. The latest information on the incident was provided by the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

The incident occurred on Monday, 7 September, at approximately kilometre 42.7 of the A4 motorway, on the section toward Zgorzelec. Earlier, a vehicle caught fire there, making traffic toward the border with Germany difficult and blocking one of the lanes.

As reported by the Bolesławiec police, the situation on the road has changed. Traffic has resumed in the left lane.

This does not mean, however, that the disruptions have ended completely. Police warn that traffic-flow problems may still occur in the area of the incident.

Drivers travelling on the A4 motorway toward Zgorzelec should exercise particular caution and adjust their speed to the road conditions. Emergency services may still be working at the site of the earlier fire, and the traffic situation may change.

We previously reported that the fire involved a vehicle and approximately 10 ares of the motorway shoulder. The driver managed to leave the vehicle, and no one was injured in the incident. Firefighters also managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby forest.

Update 16:50
