The incident occurred in the morning. Firefighters were dispatched to a person who had suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, they began providing qualified first aid together with members of OSP Gierałtów.
An AED defibrillator was used during the operation. The firefighters carried out rescue procedures, fighting for the victim's life, and then continued their efforts together with the emergency medical responders who arrived at the scene.
The joint operation was successful. The vital functions of the 60-year-old man were restored.
The victim was then handed over to the emergency medical team and taken to hospital.
The incident shows how important it is to begin rescue efforts quickly in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. In such situations, every minute matters, and the ability to use an AED, along with efficient cooperation between the services, can be crucial to saving a life.
