Officers stopped a 33-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County for inspection. They suspected that the woman might be under the influence of prohibited substances.
The inspection took place while officers were patrolling one of the streets of Bolesławiec. Traffic police noticed the woman driving a car and decided to check whether she was sober.
The officers’ suspicions were confirmed by a drug test. It detected intoxicants in the 33-year-old woman’s system.
However, this was not the only problem that came to light during the inspection. It turned out that the woman’s driving licence had been suspended several months earlier because she had driven a car under the influence of alcohol. Despite not having the required licence, she once again decided to get behind the wheel.
Police also established that the car driven by the 33-year-old had its registration certificate retained and was not authorised for road use.
The woman will be held responsible for driving without the required licence and for driving a vehicle that was not authorised for road use. If a blood test confirms the presence of intoxicants, the 33-year-old will also be charged with driving under their influence.
Driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicants may carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.
