Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, together with officers of the CBA Delegation in Wrocław and soldiers of the Military Police Unit in Wrocław, carried out procedural activities in three voivodeships: Lower Silesian, Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian.

Detained entrepreneurs and searches

Two men running businesses in the services and wholesale sectors were detained. The services also conducted searches, including at the 4th Regional Logistics Base in Wrocław, as well as at the homes and business premises of the detainees.

During the operations, extensive evidence was secured, which is to be analysed in the course of the proceedings.

The investigation concerns a public contract related to personal equipment for Polish Army soldiers for a military unit in Wrocław.

The equipment allegedly failed to meet the requirements

Investigators' findings indicate that in 2023–2024 the entrepreneurs won tenders for the delivery of equipment for the military.

According to the prosecutor's office, they allegedly intended to obtain financial gain by supplying equipment that did not comply with the requirements specification set out in the public contract and then concealing that non-compliance.

The result? The State Treasury disposed of property to its detriment. According to the investigation's findings, the value of this property exceeds PLN 20 million. This amount corresponded to the remuneration paid to the supplier.

They were remanded in custody

After their detention, both entrepreneurs were brought before the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań. The prosecutor charged them, among other things, with fraud involving property of considerable value.

At the prosecutor's request, the court ordered the suspects to be held in temporary detention for three months.

This is not the only security measure applied in the case. During the proceedings, the suspects' assets were also secured. These included, among other things, real estate, cash and receivables held in bank accounts.

The total value of the secured assets exceeds PLN 45 million.

The preparatory proceedings are supervised by the 8th Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań. The investigation is ongoing.
