On Sunday, 23 August, after 10:00 p.m., we received a report from a Reader concerning an unlit pedestrian crossing. A short video showing what the place looks like after dark was attached to the message.
In the video, it is indeed difficult to see adequate lighting at the crossing. The Reader drew attention to the problem, writing:
This is what the crossing on Widok Street looks like… Very dangerous… No lighting at all.
We asked how long the situation had been like this. The response was: “I don't know myself 🤷♂️”.
It is also not known whether the problem concerns a malfunction of a particular lamp, all the lighting at this location, or another fault. However, given the safety of people using the crossing, the relevant services should inspect the situation.
We appeal for action and for the problem to be resolved. Especially after dark, a properly lit crossing is important both for pedestrians and for drivers, who should be able to see a person on the roadway.
