On the former foundry site in Gromadka, two fires broke out within less than 24 hours. Firefighters from several Volunteer Fire Service units took part in the operation.
The first incident took place on 20 August 2026, at approximately 8:49 p.m.. According to OSP Gromadka, upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found several fire hotspots on the former foundry site.
Three units took part in the firefighting operation: OSP KSRG Gromadka, OSP Wierzbowa and OSP KSRG Różyniec.
However, the firefighters' interventions at this location did not end there. On 21 August, at approximately 3:50 p.m., OSP Wierzbowa was dispatched again to a fire at the former foundry.
This time, the fire involved an abandoned old hotel building. Firefighters from Wierzbowa reported that they worked at the scene together with other crews.
What is concerning is that fires frequently occur at this location.
