At the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec, a formal gala was held today to mark the 25th anniversary of cooperation between Bolesławiec County and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. The jubilee was an opportunity to sum up a quarter-century of joint activities, meetings and friendships, as well as to set out directions for further cooperation.
Over 25 years, the partnership has included, among other things, youth exchanges, cooperation between schools and institutions, activities in culture and sport, as well as the exchange of experience between local governments. Above all, it is about relationships built by people—residents, teachers, athletes, artists, entrepreneurs and representatives of local institutions.
An important moment of the gala was the signing of the act extending the Partnership Agreement by Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis District Head Sebastian Schuster.
The document confirms the will to continue developing cooperation based on mutual trust, respect and shared European values. The partners intend to develop cooperation in areas including education and youth exchange, culture, sport, healthcare, the economy, environmental protection, tourism and local government administration.
The agreement also provides for joint activities for the benefit of residents and the implementation of international and cross-border projects, including those co-financed by European Union funds.
Today’s jubilee was therefore not only an opportunity to recall memories and express thanks for 25 years of cooperation, but also a symbolic opening of the next chapter in the partnership between Bolesławiec County and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis.
