The incident occurred near the mine in Kondratów. Workers at an animal hotel received information about a wandering dog, quickly responded and secured the animal.

Thanks to their actions, the dog received the necessary help and safe shelter. The police were also notified of the situation.

The case was handled by officers from the criminal division of the District Police Headquarters in Jawor. Their actions made it possible to determine the circumstances in which the husky ended up alone near the mine and who had allegedly left the animal there.

He took the dog into his care. Later, he left it near the mine

As police determined, the 36-year-old resident of Złotoryja County took the dog from an acquaintance who wanted to find a new owner for the husky.

Along with the animal, the man received its health record and the accessories needed to care for the dog. Initially, he was therefore supposed to look after it.

However, the situation was reportedly to change when, according to police findings, the dog began behaving aggressively.

The man then wanted to return the animal to its previous owner. The woman refused to take the dog back. Instead of finding another safe solution, the 36-year-old allegedly decided to abandon the animal.

He drove to the area near the mine in Kondratów, where he left the dog unattended.

That was where the husky was later found by people who decided to help it.

The 36-year-old was charged

Police identified the person responsible for abandoning the dog. The 36-year-old man was charged under the Animal Protection Act.

Police said that abandoning an animal in a manner constituting abuse is an act defined in the provisions of the Animal Protection Act.

The man admitted to the act of which he was accused.

The husky was secured and is currently staying at an animal hotel. It is provided with care and safe conditions there.

Police: an animal is a responsibility

Jawor police officers remind people that an animal is a responsibility lasting many years. A holiday trip, behavioral problems or difficulties in providing care cannot be reasons for abandoning a dog.

If an owner is no longer able to care for an animal, they should look for a responsible solution. Help can be obtained, among other places, from a shelter, an animal welfare organization, a veterinarian or someone able to provide the dog with suitable conditions.

An animal must not be left in a forest, by the roadside, in a remote place or anywhere else where it will not receive care and may be unable to survive on its own.

The story of the husky found in Kondratów is another reminder that a dog is not an object that can be discarded when problems arise.

An animal trusts people, and people are responsible for it.
