Bolesławiec County has been covered by a new meteorological thunderstorm warning. The alert issued by IMGW will take effect on Thursday, August 6, at 12:00 p.m. and will remain in force until midnight.

Forecasters predict thunderstorms, locally accompanied by very heavy rainfall of 30 to 40 mm and wind gusts reaching up to 90 km/h. Hail is also possible in some areas. The probability of these phenomena was assessed at 80 percent.

This is another thunderstorm warning for our region. (A similar alert was also in force in previous days.) According to the latest forecast, Thursday afternoon and evening may also bring a dynamic change in the weather.

At the same time, a level-three heat warning remains in force. IMGW has maintained the alert until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Although temperatures are expected to be somewhat lower that day than in previous days, thermometers may still show from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius. In previous days, maximum temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees were forecast.

The combination of high temperatures and the inflow of cooler air favors the development of severe atmospheric phenomena. Residents of Bolesławiec County should follow weather updates and exercise caution, especially while traveling and when staying outdoors.

During a thunderstorm, it is advisable to secure items located on balconies and properties, avoid parking cars under trees and limit time spent outdoors. Drivers should expect the possibility of a sudden deterioration in road conditions due to heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts.
