The incident took place on one of the city buses in Lubin. The driver reprimanded a woman travelling with the 24-year-old, asking her to take her feet off the seat. After leaving the bus, the man grabbed an empty beer bottle and threw it at the vehicle’s door. The impact smashed the window, and the losses were estimated at nearly PLN 2,500.
The case was handled by officers from the Criminal Department of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. Analysis of the collected evidence and operational activities led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
Investigators established that damaging the bus was not the only offense the 24-year-old allegedly committed. According to police findings, the man also smashed a window in the home of a man who was in a relationship with his former partner.
The list of charges does not end there. The suspect will also face charges for stealing several women’s handbags, as well as perfumes and coffee from supermarkets in Lubin.
Police report that the 24-year-old had previously been known to them. The evidence collected made it possible to charge him with property damage and theft. The court will decide his further fate. The offenses of which he is accused carry a sentence of up to five years in prison.
