Violent weather change over Bolesławiec County

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a new second-degree meteorological warning for Bolesławiec County. Forecasters predict that as early as Friday evening, residents of the region will have to prepare for violent storms accompanied by heavy rainfall, very strong winds and hail in some places.

According to the forecast, storms are expected from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, until 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1. The probability of the phenomenon occurring is 80 percent.

Torrential rain, strong winds and hail

IMGW forecasts rainfall of 25 to 35 mm, wind gusts reaching 90 km/h, and locally even 100 km/h. Hail may also fall in some areas.

The storms will move from the southwest toward the northeast, so weather conditions may change very quickly.

Heat warning remains in effect

At the same time, the third-degree heat warning remains in effect. It applies until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, while at night they will remain between 19 and 22 degrees. This means that immediately after the heatwave ends, an active storm front may move into the region.

It is worth securing property

In connection with the forecast storms, it is worth securing items located on balconies, terraces and properties, as well as avoiding parking cars under trees. During the storm, it is best to limit time spent in open areas and monitor weather alerts on an ongoing basis.

If the forecasts are confirmed, Friday evening and the night from July 31 to August 1 may bring the most dynamic weather change in Bolesławiec County in several days.
