Although the most extreme temperatures were recorded on Thursday, the heatwave has not yet ended. On Friday, July 31, residents of Bolesławiec County must still expect very high temperatures, and the third-degree meteorological warning remains in effect until 8:00 p.m.

Forecasters predict that during the day the temperature will reach from 31°C to 34°C. The previous day was even hotter—in many places, thermometers could show from 33°C to as much as 36°C. Although the worst stage of the heatwave appears to be behind us, conditions may still be dangerous to health.

A third-degree warning means a very high probability of the phenomenon occurring and a real danger to older people, children, those with chronic illnesses, and anyone spending a longer period in the sun. High temperatures can lead to dehydration, exhaustion, and even heatstroke.

While the warning is in effect, it is advisable to limit time spent outdoors during the hours of strongest sunlight, replenish fluids regularly, and avoid intense physical exertion. It is also important never to leave children or animals in parked cars—even for a few minutes.

The current alert has been in effect since July 30 at 12:00 p.m. and will remain valid until July 31 at 8:00 p.m.. Forecasters note that the warning may have been updated, but everything indicates that as Friday ends, the period of the most intense heat will begin to subside.

This is good news for residents of Bolesławiec County, but it is worth remaining cautious until evening. Despite the gradual drop in temperatures, Friday will still be one of the hottest days of this summer.
