The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced a tender for resurfacing the ramps at the Bolesławiec interchange on the A4 motorway. Bids from interested contractors will be accepted until 11 August 2026.
The project includes removing the existing road surface, improving the road drainage system and laying new bituminous layers—a binder course and a wearing course. The works will also include repairing the shoulders and renewing the road markings.
According to GDDKiA, the aim of the project is to improve the technical condition of the road surface and increase the safety of all A4 motorway users. The modernisation is also intended to make driving more comfortable and extend the durability of the road infrastructure.
The works will be carried out in stages to limit disruption for drivers. Nevertheless, temporary traffic arrangements will be necessary for the duration of the project. The closed ramps will be taken out of service successively, and drivers will be directed to detours via the neighbouring interchanges, Godzieszów and Krzywa.
The start date of the works has not yet been announced. It will be known after the tender procedure is completed and a contract is signed with the selected contractor.
The A4 motorway is one of Poland’s most important transport routes and serves as a main transport corridor connecting the southern and western parts of the country. Thousands of passenger-car and truck drivers use it every day, so even local roadworks require appropriate traffic-management planning.
The Bolesławiec interchange plays an important role in serving local and transit traffic, connecting the motorway with roads leading to Bolesławiec and nearby towns. Regular resurfacing and road-infrastructure maintenance help maintain an appropriate level of safety and the efficiency of one of the country’s busiest routes.
