Bolesławiec County has been covered by a third-degree meteorological warning for extreme heat. The alert issued for the region will take effect on Thursday, July 30, at 12:00 p.m. and remain in force until Friday, July 31, at 8:00 p.m.
According to forecasters’ predictions, the next two days will be the most difficult. On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to range from 33 to 36°C, while on Friday it will range from 31 to 34°C. The nights will not bring much relief either—the minimum temperature will remain between 19 and 22°C, which means so-called tropical nights.
A third-degree warning indicates the possibility of very dangerous weather phenomena that may pose a threat to health and life, particularly for older people, children and people with chronic illnesses. During the hottest periods, it is advisable to limit time spent in the sun, avoid strenuous physical activity and remember to hydrate regularly.
The services also remind people not to leave children or animals in parked cars, even for a short time. The temperature inside a vehicle can rise to a dangerous level within just a few minutes.
Residents of Bolesławiec County should follow further weather bulletins on an ongoing basis and take particular care during the approaching heatwave.
