On the bridge over the Kwisa River along national road No. 30, further stages of renovation work are under way. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways has announced that the work will continue until the beginning of August, so drivers should still be prepared for temporary difficulties.

Repairs are currently being carried out on the deck slabs within the roadway and on the sidewalk slab. Road workers are also conducting local repairs and rebuilding bituminous expansion joints, which are elements that allow the bridge structure to function properly during changes in temperature and loads caused by passing vehicles.

Temporary traffic arrangements are in place for the duration of the work. Traffic crosses the bridge in alternating directions and is controlled by traffic lights. During periods of heavier traffic, drivers may encounter short queues and longer travel times.

Bridges are among the most heavily loaded elements of road infrastructure. Every day, they carry the weight of thousands of cars, while their structures are additionally exposed to water, frost, high temperatures and road salt. Regular renovation and maintenance make it possible to repair damage before it becomes a serious threat to road users.

Work such as repairing deck slabs and expansion joints is primarily intended to increase safety and extend the service life of the entire structure. Properly conducted renovations can reduce the risk of more extensive damage, avoid costly upgrades in the future and ensure drivers can cross the bridge safely for years to come.
