This solution will bring tangible benefits to students and their families from the new school year. Thanks to the program, students of post-primary schools run by Bolesławiec County will be able to travel to school free of charge by public transport. The costs of purchasing personalized monthly tickets will be covered by Bolesławiec County, eliminating one of the significant barriers to access to education.

The program will be in force from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, and is aimed at students using public transport for their daily travel to post-primary schools within the county. The initiative will help equalize educational opportunities for young people and support families, while ensuring that their place of residence does not limit their choice of school.

Before the resolution was adopted, a joint meeting of the permanent committees of the County Council was held, during which councillors discussed the program proposal and the other resolutions included on the agenda in detail.

During the session, the County Council also adopted resolutions concerning changes to the Bolesławiec County budget for 2026 and amendments to the Long-Term Financial Forecast, adjusting the financial documents to the local government’s current needs and planned activities.

The “BILET” program is another initiative by Bolesławiec County aimed at supporting residents and investing in the education of the younger generation. Free travel to schools means real savings for families and greater access to educational opportunities for students from across the county. It is tangible support that hundreds of young residents of Bolesławiec County will feel from September.
