On Sunday, September 4, the Municipal Harvest Festival was held in Dobra. The ceremony began with a mass dedicated to farmers. The traditional procession was also an essential part of the event. Representatives of the localities comprising the rural municipality prepared magnificent harvest wreaths. In the competition for the most beautiful wreath, Kraśnik Dolny won. Ocice took second place. Stara Oleszna came third.
The organizers provided many attractions. Participants could, among other things, take part in a sheaf-tying competition, throw a rolling pin at a mannequin and... high-jump with a cube of straw.
Folklore enthusiasts also had plenty to enjoy. The following performed that day: the Municipal Song and Dance Ensemble “Jutrzenka” and the group Leśne Nastroje from Dobra. The harvest festival’s featured band was Maxel.
The event concluded with a dance party. The ceremony was organized by the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, with its registered office in Kruszyna.
