During a thunderstorm, it is best to remain inside a building and avoid going out into open spaces. It is advisable to close windows, secure items on balconies and terraces, and limit the use of electrical devices connected to the mains. If a storm catches us while driving, the safest option is to stop in a safe place and wait out the storm inside the vehicle.

Outdoors, avoid staying under lone trees, near power poles or over water, where the risk of being struck by lightning is particularly high. Drivers should keep a greater distance from other vehicles, adjust their speed to the conditions, and watch out for possible local flooding and broken branches that may appear on roads during heavy rain and gusty winds.
