The incident occurred on Saturday, July 11, at 8:11 a.m. A tremor measuring 3.6 E7J was recorded at Zakłady Górnicze Lubin. A rescue operation involving the Mine and Metallurgical Rescue Unit began immediately after the incident.

The most difficult situation involved a mining machine operator whose cabin was buried under rock masses. Rescuers remained in contact with him throughout the operation and focused on freeing him safely. The other 19 miners in the danger zone were evacuated and were out of danger.

Before 1:00 p.m., the services delivered the most important information—the rescue operation had been completed. All miners who were in the danger area at the time of the tremor were safe and had received medical attention.

According to preliminary findings, one person sustained minor injuries. The condition of all those injured is assessed as good.

The circumstances and causes of the tremor will be determined by a specially appointed commission, which will conduct a detailed analysis of the incident.

The most important information, however, is that all miners in the danger zone were safely located and that the rescue operation ended successfully.
