The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has issued a public warning concerning two batches of the Verdin Fix Kompozycja 6 ziół, 20 sachets (36 g) dietary supplement. The manufacturer decided to recall them from the market after tests conducted by the company detected the presence of Salmonella spp. bacteria.
The recall decision was made by USP Zdrowie Sp. z o.o. as part of preventive measures. As emphasized in the announcement, it was intended to maintain the highest safety standards for products reaching consumers.
Which batches of the supplement have been recalled?
The announcement concerns the following product:
- Verdin Fix Kompozycja 6 ziół, 20 sachets (36 g),
- batch number: L:26/077P,
- batch number: L:26/068N,
- best-before date: 31 March 2028
If you have a product from one of the batches listed above, you should not consume it.
Why did GIS issue the warning?
According to the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, tests detected the presence of Salmonella spp. bacteria. According to the risk assessment prepared by experts from the National Institute of Public Health PZH – National Research Institute, the product may pose a health risk, particularly if the bacteria are transferred from the product to hands or other surfaces.
At the same time, experts note that if the infusion was prepared according to the instructions on the packaging, the risk of live Salmonella bacteria being present in the finished drink is significantly reduced.
What did the manufacturer do?
USP Zdrowie said that after receiving information about the product in question, it immediately:
- began recalling the specified batches from distribution,
- halted further deliveries of the product from its warehouse.
The matter is also being investigated by official food-control authorities, which are cooperating with the manufacturer.
What should consumers do?
GIS recommends not consuming the supplement from the batches covered by the announcement. Anyone who has consumed the product and noticed symptoms that may indicate food poisoning should contact a doctor as soon as possible.
Before consuming the product, check the batch number on the packaging. If it matches one of the recalled batches, the product should not be used.
