Let us recall that on July 9, we reported on the decision concerning the closure of the Shelter for Homeless Small Animals in Przylasek to visitors until August 9. The official reason was said to be temporary staff shortages, but from the beginning there were questions as to whether this was indeed the only reason for issuing the order.
The published document stated that the possibility of visiting the shelter by members of the public would be suspended for a month. The order clearly indicated that during its period of validity, unauthorized persons could not remain on the shelter’s premises.
The ban did not apply to employees, veterinarians, services carrying out inspections, or persons providing services for the facility. In justified cases, permission to enter could be granted by the chairman of the „Kwisa” Association of Municipalities or a person authorized by him.
The decision to close the shelter also had political consequences. Aleksandra Chomicz and Joanna Świder resigned from their positions as members of the Board of the „Kwisa” Association of Municipalities. In their statements, they indicated that the chairman had decided to close the shelter without consulting the entire board, which became the reason for their resignations.
The information published on the shelter’s official Facebook profile is all the more surprising. It shows that despite the earlier order, the facility will open to visitors as early as Saturday (July 11). This means that residents will once again be able to visit the shelter and go for a walk with the dogs staying there.
For now, it is not known whether this means a complete withdrawal of the earlier decision to close the shelter for a month, or merely a one-time opening of the facility.
