As in previous years, every day throughout the summer holiday period, the policja.pl website, social media and websites administered by Police units present a map of Poland showing the number of fatal road accidents, together with information about each incident (i.e. the location, general information on the number of victims, the type of road user and the type of incident) from the past 24 hours and since the beginning of the summer holidays.
The ongoing updating of the map, including its visual presentation, is intended to draw attention to the scale of the tragedies occurring on Polish roads, encourage road users to reflect, and encourage the media to discuss road safety.
The map makes it possible to obtain details of fatal road accidents that have occurred:
- All accidents,
- Past 24 hours,
- Since the beginning of the summer holidays (excluding the past 24 hours),
- Road accidents in which a person died within 30 days.
It should be remembered that every point marked on this map represents a human tragedy. Any act of ignoring the rules, even one that may seem trivial, recklessness, or disregarding drowsiness or fatigue can cause a tragedy on the road.
Once again, Screen Network has joined the promotion of road safety measures. On more than 20,000 advertising screens located throughout the country, including near major transport routes, railway stations, petrol stations and shopping centres, it will display a map with up-to-date data.
