On one of the residential car parks in Bolesławiec, a situation occurred that could have ended in tragedy. A one-and-a-half-year-old child was locked inside a car, along with the keys to the vehicle. Due to the high temperature and the rapidly heating interior of the vehicle, police officers immediately decided to smash a window and safely get the boy out.

The incident occurred during a period of high temperatures. The child’s mother noticed that she could not open the vehicle herself after the keys had been locked inside the car. Seeing the danger and knowing that every minute mattered, she called the 112 emergency number.

The officer on duty at the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters immediately sent a patrol to the scene. After arriving, officers from the Prevention Department quickly assessed the situation and decided to smash one of the vehicle’s windows. The operation was carried out efficiently and with the child’s safety in mind.

The one-and-a-half-year-old boy was taken out of the car. As reported, he did not require medical assistance. Thanks to the mother’s quick reaction and the police officers’ decisive action, the situation ended without tragic consequences.

The services remind the public that during hot weather, the interior of a closed car heats up very quickly, even if the vehicle is parked for only a short time. In such conditions, leaving a child or animal inside may pose a direct threat to their health and life.

This is not the first such situation recently. A week ago, we described an incident involving keys locked inside and a 2-month-old child inside the car. That situation also required the car window to be smashed.

If you notice a person or animal left in a heated car, notify the emergency services as soon as possible by calling 112. A quick reaction can be crucial.
