The operation was conducted in places particularly vulnerable to road incidents, including near pedestrian crossings, bicycle crossings, sidewalks and bicycle paths. Officers paid attention to compliance with the regulations, including the obligation for people under 16 to wear a helmet.

During the all-day operation, more than 700 vulnerable road users were checked and nearly 500 offenses were detected. Cyclists committed the most violations – more than 370.

Electric scooter users most often violated regulations concerning speed limits and traffic signals. Police remind people that road safety depends above all on compliance with the regulations, prudence and particular caution.

We also remind drivers of the need to apply the principle of limited trust toward two-wheeled vehicle users, including cyclists and people traveling on electric scooters.

Even when having the right of way, it is worth exercising particular caution, observing the surroundings and anticipating possible mistakes by other road users. Such an attitude may help avoid dangerous situations and road incidents with tragic consequences.
