He stole the item from one of the Bolesławiec stores offering, among other things, electronic equipment. The perpetrator took a drive worth nearly PLN 1,200. Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters took up the case.
The police analyzed surveillance footage and gathered operational information, which enabled them to identify a suspect. He turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of Lubań County. The man was detained at his place of residence.
During the proceedings, the suspect admitted that he had sold the stolen equipment to a person he met by chance. He explained that he needed cash.
That was not the end of the matter, however. During further checks, officers established that the 33-year-old was wanted by the District Court in Jelenia Góra to serve a prison sentence.
The man has already been charged with theft. He faces up to 5 years in prison for the offense.
