The motorcyclist’s dangerous riding ended with police intervention and the loss of his driving licence. Road traffic officers from the Lubin police headquarters, patrolling the city in an unmarked police car, noticed a motorcycle rider who, while accelerating dynamically, lifted the vehicle’s front wheel and changed lanes on one wheel.

According to the police, the manoeuvre posed a danger both to the motorcyclist himself and to other road users. The officers immediately stopped the rider for a check. It turned out that the motorcycle was being ridden by a 37-year-old resident of Wrocław.
For causing a direct threat to road safety, the officers confiscated the man’s driving licence. They also issued him with a fine of PLN 1,500 and 10 penalty points.

The police remind drivers that reckless and dangerous riding can lead to tragic consequences.

The officers stress that drivers who treat public roads as a racetrack must expect severe consequences.

New regulations on drifting and riding on one wheel

The officers also draw attention to new regulations on dangerous behaviour on the road, in force from 30 March 2026. The regulations prohibit, among other things, deliberately causing a vehicle’s wheels to skid—that is, drifting—as well as deliberately losing contact with the road surface of even one vehicle wheel.

This means that riding on one wheel is now treated in the same way as drifting. Drivers committing this type of offence face high fines, penalty points and the loss of their driving licence for up to three months.

The new regulations apply on public roads, in residential zones and traffic zones. The police appeal to drivers to use common sense and remind them that closed tracks, not city streets, are the place to perform this type of manoeuvre.
