On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment held a ceremonial commemoration of the 160th anniversary of the birth of General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski – an outstanding commander, patriot and one of the most important commanders of the Polish Army during the Polish-Bolshevik War.
The ceremony began with an official assembly attended by invited guests, the command staff and regiment soldiers. The event had a solemn character and expressed remembrance of the general, whose activities became permanently inscribed in the history of the Polish armed forces.
After the assembly, participants were invited to a historical lecture and an exhibition devoted to the life and activities of General Jordan-Rozwadowski.
The exhibition was prepared by the Institute of National Remembrance and presented participants with both the general’s military career and his contribution to the regaining and strengthening of Poland’s independence.
As part of the commemoration, a field game was also organized for students of uniformed classes. The young participants had an opportunity to test their practical skills, historical knowledge and ability to cooperate as a team. The organizers emphasized that such initiatives help build historical awareness and develop patriotic attitudes among the younger generation.
The commemoration of the 160th anniversary of the birth of General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski was not only a way to honor an outstanding commander, but also an opportunity to reflect on values that remain important today. Service to the Homeland, responsibility and patriotism were the central message of the event organized by the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment.
