On Tuesday, May 12, police carried out mass checks on the A4 motorway. The checks began in the early morning hours and aimed to test as many drivers as possible and remove from traffic people driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances. Police officers also paid attention to other traffic law violations that most often lead to dangerous incidents on the roads.

During the operation, 24,615 drivers were checked. Unfortunately, 16 people were driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

Across Lower Silesia, officers tested more than 19,000 drivers, detaining 32 people who were under the influence of alcohol and 2 drivers who continued to drive despite a court-imposed driving ban.

Police announce the continuation of similar operations aimed at improving road safety and reducing the number of accidents caused by intoxicated drivers. Officers once again appeal to all road users never to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or taking intoxicating substances.

Road safety depends on all of us. It is worth responding to dangerous behavior and informing the relevant services about any situations that could pose a threat.
